urchasing, financing, fuel consumption … A car can cost a lot per kilometer on a year. This is what a study of the Argus published on Thursday shows. Explanations.

The Argus on Thursday unveiled a study on the cost of not less than 1500 models of vehicles per kilometer. In order to establish this kilometric cost price (PRK), the review took several criteria: purchase, financing (credit rate), insurance, residual value over 5 years, routine maintenance (revision, replacement of parts …) fuel.

How much does (really) cost your car per kilometer?

In detail, the Dacia Sandero, Suzuki Celerio and Dacia Logan MCV are the cheapest, with 0.47 euro per kilometer (for one year and 15,000 km). The Kia Picanto (€ 0.50), the Ford Ka (€ 0.52) and the Peugeot 108 (€ 0.56) are also among the cheapest on the market.

The BMW 5 Series Gran Turismo, the most expensive car

On the contrary, some automobiles can come back to much more expensive. This is the case of the BMW 5 Series Gran Turismo, with a cost of 5.02 euros per kilometer. We also find in the classification of the most expensive cars, the Genesis, the Mercedes GLE 400 or the Audi Q7 and A6.

The study shows, however, that overall prices are falling, with several explanations: “buying a car on credit has never been so interesting due to hyper-competitive rates, vehicle consumption continues to fall, and Prices at the pump were relatively low in 2016, “notes the review.
